Audit Vault Server Installation step by step: In this article we will discuss about Audit Vault Server Installation step by step for AVDF 20.10 version.

Here we are going to install Audit Vault Server for AVDF 20.10 version on Oracle VM VirtualBox with below details configuration.

Hardware requirement for Audit Vault Server Configuration :-

AVDF Version          : Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall 20.10
Server                   	: One x-86 64 Bit (2U) 
RAM                      	: Minimum 8 GB 
Disk                        	: Minimum 220 GB 
Network Port           : Atleast One * 
ISO Image               : V1037962-01.iso

AV Server Installation steps:

1. Download the Audit Vault ISO file.
2. Configure the VM and attach the AV ISO image.
3. Start the AV Server installation.
4. Post install configuration steps.

Download the Audit Vault ISO file:

You can download the ISO file for AV installation from https://edelivery.oracle.com

Configure the VM and attach the AV ISO image:

Configure the vm for AV and attach the AV ISO image ( V1037962-01.iso )

Start the AV Server installation:

Let’s press “ENTER” to start the AV installation.

Starting automated installation process and saving Storage configuration

Running pre-installation tasks

Performing post-installation setup tasks, configuring installed system

Changing password for user root

Please re-insert the installation ISO to continue and login as root user

Re-inserted the installation ISO to continue the installation

Installing Oracle Audit Vault Server bootstrap

Configuring AVDF systemd services

Select default network interface ( Image is blur due to security reason )

Network Settings ( IP Address is blur due to security reason ). Please enter the IP Address, Network Mask and Gateway the click on OK.

Beginning installation of AV Server OL dependencies

Configuring AVS OS systemd services

Beginning installation, or upgrade, of AV Server dependencies

Installing Grid and ASM service

Creating repository

Applying Grid RU

Beginning installation of AV Server Application

Relinking Oracle Database

Installing AVS Application

Restart database in restricted mode

Updating Oracle AV and DF data

Updating UI

Applying patch for UI

Installation of ORDS

Updating SQL Settings

Restart database in normal mode

Stopping the Oracle Database Listener before entering runtime

Stopping database

Switching to full runtime

AV Server installation completed now.

AV server installation has been completed. Now Post install configuration steps must be completed using the appliance administration console at https://ip-address ( IP Address is blur due to security reason )

After completed AV server installation Login the AV server as root user and set the Support user password. You can login using root user directly only on AV server and using Support user you can login AV server remotely.

Check the AV server mount points status, AV Database status, and Listener status

Post install configuration steps:

Open the av console using URL and enter root credential

In this stage you required to setup 2 Users ( Super Administrator, Super Auditor ) for AVDF Console Management and its password, set AV Database Encryption password, and if you have DNS server then enter the DNS servers details. You can perform any administration level activity using Super Administrator User and perform any auditing level activity using Super Auditor User.

Here we create the Super Administrator User “AVADMIN” and Super Auditor User “AVAUDITOR“.

Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall login console

Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall console is ready for login and now you can login this console using AVADMIN and AVAUDITOR user only.

AVDF console View/Options when you login using AVADMIN user after Complete installation.

AVDF console View/Options when you login using AVAUDITOR user after Complete installation.

Audit Vault Server installation and Post installation steps all are successfully completed.
